Short vision, Narrow mindsAlthough I rather like ignoring the news, these days one thing was impossible to ignore.
Ofcourse, I'm talking about "Fitna". For the foreigners, it's a short movie of one of our politicians, about the "great danger called Islam". You can find it on youtube, I think.
I did not go to the trouble of watching it, I can imagen what he'll try to point out. He will point out what horrible things muslims have done, what their Koran says (wrongly citated, unfortunatly), and that they are "a great danger to the world!" [say that with an very imponant voice, plz.]
Of course, something should be done, so we should definatly remove this section from our fundamental law [according to him];
"Everybody in Holland will be treated the same way in the same cases. Discrimination because of someone's religion, view of life, politic conviction, race, gender or because of any other reason, is not allowed." I mean, we should definatly throw sticks at them, or even better, burn em.
.__ . This all reminds me of the 7th grade of elementary school. I learned about propoganda and fear, about a large group of people getting slaughtered for no obvious reason, and about how
we never ever should do this again. I simply cannot understand, as I cannot understand alot of things, why we can't just live happily together, as a multicultural society, or even better, a balanced ecosystem.
Today, I read a letter in a magazine of an 18 year old boy that was fed up with all animal welfare organizations.
"The strongest species, the one that adapts best, is the one to survive. Nowadays, that species is human. It's nature's call that the weaker ones will die out anyway. It's not our problem they die, why care?!"
What ever happened to the ideals of living alongside? Whenever did this human world lose the idea that we need to? And when the hell did we get the idea we're the supreme beings?
When it comes to an atomic war, the only animals alive will be cockroaches. Who's supreme?In this letter, in this movie, what I found so disturbing, is their confidence. What makes them believe they know it best?
Where did their respect for others go?
Have they even considered the consequenses?
I posted this here, to find opinions. Tell me yours.------------------
The other day, going somewhere, I saw a woman, dressed in a burka. My minds immediatly sprang the society-wished imprinted thoughts, like "wow, why the hell wear that" & "would her life be dominated by her husband?".
I then noticed something, that made me realize how small minded I am.
I noticed she was singing out loudly.
